Campus Road Partners is a buyside mergers and acquisitions advisor with roots stretching back to 1992. We perform proprietary acquisition search services for private equity groups, hedge funds, strategic buyers and family offices. Our clients view us as an extension of their deal origination team – we maintain a vast network of relationships with CEO’s, CFO’s and COO’s of companies across a wide variety of industries.

Unlike investment bankers and business brokers that widely list and auction the clients they represent, Campus Road Partners makes individual connections between buyer and seller. Because we contact companies with a specific and appropriate buyer in mind, we have an excellent success rate in capturing the attention of a seller and bringing them to the table for an introduction.

For buyers relying on investment banks and business brokers to bring them deals, Campus Road Partners’ network of relationships predominantly includes companies not already engaged in the selling process but open to the right partner at the right time. For Sellers

Business owners seeking to sell their company or raise capital from a private equity group or outside investor have an important alternative to hiring an investment bank or business broker. Consider the following:

The buyer pays our fees exclusively - investment bankers and business brokers may charge sellers up to 10% of the transaction price for their services and often charge an up-front retainer. Campus Road Partners is only compensated by the buyer.

Maximize selling price – an investment banker or business broker will market your business through an auction process, but that does not always guarantee the best possible price. Campus Road Partners is approaching you because it has identified a motivated buyer that is particularly interested in your business. This buyer may not have been in the pool participating in the auction process and would never have had the opportunity to bid. Your business might be the missing piece in the buyer’s portfolio and could be valued accordingly.

Alignment with your personal goals – owners or managers that are seeking to stay with the business often seek private equity or outside investors to provide the resources to grow the company more quickly than they could on their own. We can assist sellers with finding the right buyers to enable them to achieve their goals. Owners or managers who retain equity in the company often have a “second bite of the apple” several years later when the private equity group or investor sells the company to a strategic buyer.

Confidentiality – as mentioned above, an investment banker or business broker will market your business through an auction process. Although confidential, competitors, vendors and customers can discover that the business is for sale. This can negatively impact the business if the auction fails to produce a satisfactory buyer and the business has to proceed in a markedly altered landscape.

Speed – there is no need to write an information memorandum (“book”) and the overall process can be completed much more quickly with one-on-one negotiations.

Confidentiality

Confidentiality is our stock in trade. If requested, we assure that non-disclosure agreements are in place before initial conversations ever take place. We convey only information that we are authorized to convey. Further, we can stage the mutual sharing of information so that incremental information is shared as the parties become more comfortable with each other.

If a transaction fails to materialize, we will not re-market a seller without their express authorization.
